Back in the loop, we've got ourselves another Dragon Age 4 development update, last month we received quite the plethora of Dragon Age news concerning the past and present developments of the next Dragon Age title.

Today we've got ourselves an update regarding the teams in Edmonton shuffling over from Anthem to Dragon Age 4's production.

In a recent update by Comicbook.com:

"Over the past couple of weeks, three key members of [Anthem's] development team - lead director Jonathan Warner, lead producer Michael Gamble, and executive producer Mark Darrah - all have left Anthem development behind. The former is poised to return to the game following his sabbatical, but the other two are going back to work on Dragon Age 4".

The timing itself is uncanny due to Anthem's failed roadmap, and terrific launch plans.

"According to Gamble, Anthem development is being helmed by lead producer Ben Irving and head of live service's Chad Robertson, while the rest of the game's leads have turned their attention elsewhere."

Regarding my feelings on this, I mean, wasn't this always the case? Originally the majority of the Dragon Age team in Edmonton were moved over to work on Anthem in it's dire state. Now that Anthem has released and it's on its way to creating live-service content, surely it makes sense for the previous Dragon Age staff to return to the next project.

Mark Darrah, in particular, is the Executive Producer for both Anthem and Dragon Age, it makes plenty of sense why he's swapped over to work on the next Dragon Age game.

So, it my opinion, this may seem like bad timing because of Anthem's roadmap issues, however, this has always been the plan for BioWare, once Anthem was released, the original Dragon Age team could return to work on their beloved project.

Now the Dragon Age team are fulfilling that prophecy, they're going back to work on the next Dragon Age, a game that we're all super excited about!

Regarding Mark Darrah, he's also tweeted regarding the next Dragon Age title:

"We aren't working on Dragon Age 3

We aren't working on Dragon Age 5

... I guess that's that".

And Patrick Weekes replied in this thread with the remark:

"Dra6on Age: Rivaini Drift CONFIRMED"

And even Mike Gamble made a memey reply with:

"Dragon Age 6"

And with that, some final thoughts. Honestly this news really isn't as alarming as peeps are making it out to be, they seem to forget the fact that literally the entirety of the Dragon Age team were moved to work on Anthem in the first place.

All they're doing now is simply returning to the project they originally worked on. It was the shuffling of Anthem's developments that've diverted BioWare in-house, now they can return to the work they originally had planned.

So, with that, Dragon Age 4 (which now more than ever seems to be the game they're creating, not some silly spin-off or mobile game), the project is now on it's way to full-scale development with the original team that've been shaping the game up.

All we can hope now is that perhaps we could see something next EA Play, on one of their live-streams? Perhaps just a title reveal trailer? Or anything would be good in general.
