Following on from E3 2019 and my recent predictions video, there was no glimpse of Dragon Age 4 and it's current development process at any of the conferences. Slightly disappointing, but at the end of the day, we want BioWare to take as much time as possible to polish and create one of their best Dragon Age experiences.
And perhaps this E3, for the current stage of development that Dragon Age 4 is in, it may have not been appropriate to show something, we all know Anthem is currently on everyone's radar when BioWare is brought up in the mainstream, perhaps this was just a case of managing Anthem first.
So, Dragon Age 4 made no appearance at E3 2019, however, this doesn't mean a trailer or reveal won't crop up later in 2019, today I'm going to be optimistically looking at when and where we could be seeing the next major trailer or reveal for this project.
We're already halfway into the year, with a lot of the huge conferences down like E3 and Pax East, it's hard to believe that the #TheDreadWolfRises teaser came out over 6 months ago, that's a yikes from me!
So, when could we hear from BioWare Edmonton again regarding Dragon Age 4? The biggest bet we've got so far is Pax West!
This conference is occurs in Seattle, United States on the 29 Aug 2019 – 2 Sep 2019.
Now this is a huge deal because BioWare we're there last year! I made a huge, excited news video last September when Dragon Age 4 was confirmed once more by Mark Darrah, the team came out played Inquisition's iconic score and once again, I'm just going to let you guys witness this once more!
This is the exact reason why we should be somewhat excited for a potential reveal or tease at Pax West, last year they hosted a panel in which discussed Anthem and the future of BioWare games ie. Mass Effect and Dragon Age 4.
So guys! Book your tickets for Pax West this year because undoubtedly BioWare will be making an appearance there, and even if there's no trailer or huge reveal, there will be plenty of tidbits from the panels and developer tweets!
Pax West is the most exciting time for a reveal, but a week ahead of it, there's Gamescom, on the 21 August till the 24 August which is in Cologne, Germany and appears to be one of gaming's biggest conventions for countless publishers.
New Anthem footage was shown off last year concerning BioWare's appearance at this con, it seems towards the end of August is the one of the most exciting times for game developers with Gamescom and Pax West literally a week out from each other.
Again, BioWare feature at both conventions, so if there's anything for them to discuss or show off going forward at these events, it's got to be the next Dragon Age game!
Now if that's too optimistic, well of course, early December has The Game Awards 2019, and I needn't remind you of what happened last year! The question is, would that happen this year?
Maybe, maybe not? I mean, I hope so, but who can tell? It was shown as a world premier at the time, maybe we could have an advanced trailer from the first?
With TGA's, that marks the end of 2019, so I ask the question, what if we don't see Dragon Age 4 at any point during this year? Well, there is Pax East which happens early 2020, February 27 - March 1!
Pax East happens in Boston, and again it's another perfect opportunity for panels, reveals and trailers, like BioWare have done in the past with Dragon Age: Inquisition and Mass Effect: Andromeda!
And if that fails us, well then we're back to square one which is E3/EA Play 2020, constantly predicting away at which conference we could see something Dragon Age-related. In any event, Mike Gamble tweeted out that we can bet he'll be there next year.
Normally, Gamble works on the Mass Effect franchise and Anthem, however, I've heard that he has been working on Dragon Age 4 since the reshuffling, I mean, if he's teasing the next Mass Effect game then there's no way we won't see Dragon Age 4 and Mass Effect, they both go hand in hand right?
Anyhow, if you're wondering where or when we might next see something Dragon Age 4 related, the next best bet is towards the end of August with Gamescom and Pax West, two very exciting conferences back to back with plenty of reveals, trailers and gameplay.
